Windowsill Pies

It has been more than a year since we visited Windowsill Pies and the brothers have shifted locations a few times. Compared to their small shop at Pandan Valley, Windowsill Pies have now moved to a larger shop space at Jalan Besar, with quite a number of sit-in tables as well as a separate stand offering cooked savoury food.

The Grasshopper Pie is one of the brothers’ latest creations. It consists of a fresh mint cream, atop a flourless chocolate base and chocolate mousse, and topped with salted chocolate cookies. Except for the salted chocolate cookies, the rest of the pie was pretty mediocre. The chocolate mousse and base weren’t very rich in chocolate as well, with the mint cream standing out strongly.

Smore’s Pie

Smore’s Pie – The Smore’s Pie wasn’t all that impressive as well. The chocolate richness wasn’t evident, but was overshadowed by the sweetness of the semi-melted marshmallows. The crust base was a tad too weak as well. The idea of S’more didn’t quite come through in this pie.

When we first tried Windowsill Pies, we were impressed with the exquisiteness and creativity. This time round, we were less blown away. The quality of the pies weren’t outstanding and seemingly lacking the original home-made touch.
