Having achieved a rather impressive success with its chain of Awfully Chocolate cake shops, Loola’s is the franchise’s first venture into “breakfast, braise and breads”.

Our first experience with cheese souffle was at 1-Caramel, and it was absolutely divine! Spotting the Crab Cheese Souffle ($15) on Loola’s menu, we didn’t even think twice and ordered it immediately. After a rather long wait of 20 minutes, our piping hot Crab Cheese Souffle was served. We were slightly disappointed by the looks of it as there wasn’t much of a surprise factor unlike that of 1-Caramel’s. But we were definitely enticed by the strong cheesy aroma. The souffle was sprinkled with parmesan flakes. The charred top crust was filled with slightly melted cheese. The souffle was moist, fluffy and rather eggy. The level and quality of cheesiness was a little disappointing. The pieces of crab meat were largely found at the bottom of the souffle. Another disappointing factor was the freshness of the crab meat. We felt that it was lacking in freshness and was not as chewy as we liked it to be. Overall, for such a long wait and at $15, we were not very impressed with Loola’s Crab Cheese Souffle.
