The latest addition to the Starbucks family is the branch at Rochester! Occupying a colonial-style black and white 2 floor building, this Starbucks definitely stands out from its other branches. Besides this new look, there were also new additions to the menu and we tried one of their newer sweet offerings – Salted Caramel Chocolate Panna Cotta.

Salted Caramel Chocolate Panna Cotta

Salted Caramel Chocolate Panna Cotta ($5.50) – The dessert was heated up before it was served. The sea salt caramel melted into a viscous syrup which was partially absorbed by the buttery brownies atop the panna cotta. The panna cotta had a soft, silky, beancurd-like texture. It was not sweet on its own but its light flavour complemented well with the melted sea salt caramel. The only component of chocolate in this dessert came from the chocolate flavour tart crust, which gave off a strong buttery scent too. The combination of panna cotta on the chocolate flavoured tart stroke a resemblance to egg tarts.
