We were rather skeptical about the cheese tarts from Ooki Taiyaki, but in any case, we decided to give it a shot. Sadly, our skepticism was not unfounded.

Original Cheese Tarts

We tried the Original Cheese Tarts ($1.50 each) and with the first bite of the tart, the all so familiar taste of “commonly sold in all good supermarkets, square slices of cheese wrapped in a transparent plastic, the most famous brand being Chesdale”  cheese overwhelmed our taste buds. This is definitely not our favourite cheese tart. The tart wasn’t crumbly nor crunchy. In fact, it was soft and moist. There were remnants of the tart base on the aluminium cup, which were moist and glittering with water droplets.

Well, at $1.50 per piece, compared to Glace’s $3.00, it is no surprise that the standard differs far and wide.
