The House of Robert Timms

The House of Robert Timms

As we were walking past Orchard Shopping Centre, we were attracted by the wide array of cakes and desserts at The House of Robert Timms (newly opened at Orchard Shopping Centre)!

Choc Peanut Butter Pie with Reese's

Choc Peanut Butter Pie with Reese's

Choc Peanut Butter Pie with Reese’s – The popular candy bar in a pie. There were 2 distinct layers in the pie – a bottom chocolate fudge layer and a top creamy peanut butter layer. The top peanut butter layer was way too soft and mushy. As such, it was lacking in the stickiness and chewiness of peanut butter. The tinge of saltiness from peanut butter was evident but yet lacking in the nutty fragrance. The bottom chocolate fudge base was sweet and rich. The pie could do better without the cream at the edge.

Choc Marshmallow Bar

Choc Marshmallow Bar

Choc Marshmallow Bar – Here’s where marshmallow-studded chewy chocolate and honey roasted walnuts stack high on buttery brownie. A major flaw of this dessert is the overwhelming sweetness. The marshmallows were sweet; the chocolate brownie was sweet; the toffee sauce was also very sweet – on a whole, the entire Choc Marshmallow Bar was cloyingly sweet, such that a few small bits were sufficient to make us very sick. The brownie itself was rather chewy, sticky and dense. We felt that if the brownie wasn’t drizzled with toffee sauce, the sweetness wouldn’t be that overwhelming.
