Glutinous Rice Ball in Sesame Paste 生磨芝麻糊汤丸

Glutinous Rice Ball in Sesame Paste 生磨芝麻糊汤丸

The Sesame Paste from Honeymoon Dessert did not have the texture of freshly hand grounded black sesame grains. The sesame paste wasn’t too watery, rather it was on the thick side. But from the smoothness of the paste, we gathered that they had added a high percentage of corn starch water, such that the paste became thicker and more gluey, but not equating to a more authentic black sesame paste.

The Glutinous Rice Balls were filled with peanuts and white sesame. It did not taste like typical peanut filling and its orangy colour resembled that of coconut fillings. The fillings were not too generous and the glutinous rice balls were generally of mediocre standards. Nothing fantastic, which makes us wonder why this place is always packed at night.
