Meiji Galbo – With its black and white box and the cigar-like packaging, the Galbo exuded ‘manly-ness’. Looking at the picture on the box, we more or less guessed that the texture and taste would be akin to Cadbury fingers. True enough, just as we expected, Galbo was essentially a chocolate cookie centre, encased with a thin layer of dark chocolate. The chocolate cookie was rather dense and crunchy. The chocolate outer layer was slightly more bitter and richer in flavour. There wasn’t much surprises in Galbo and be it taste or texture, everything was within expectations. It was a stark contrast from the surprise we had gotten from Meiji’s Cho-pan. Overall, it was average, not something that we would have a special craving for.
