Everything With Fries

The first time we went to Everything with Fries at Joo Chiat, we tried the Nutella Tart and Mille Crepe. Both fell short of our expectations, especially since we had read raved reviews about the Nutella Tart. This time round, we were at a different branch at Orchard Central and we tried their latest dessert creation Peanut Butter Slice.

Peanut Butter Slice

One word to sum it all – BAD. We give it 2 thumbs down. The description of the Peanut Butter Slice read “Rich & creamy peanut butter on a crunchy biscuit base. It is soft and delicate in texture but rich and creamy in taste”. Indeed, looks wise, the peanut butter slab was seated nicely on a layer of digestive biscuit like crust. Seemingly, there would be 2 kinds of texture one would expect – the creamy peanut butter and the crunchy biscuit. However, the moment we attempt to slice out a small portion, we realized how soft the entire peanut butter slice was. The immediate impression after the first bite was that it was very soft, too soft that there was no differentiation between the peanut butter and the crunchy biscuit base. In fact, there was no crunchiness at all. The entire slice was akin to a pudding, which pretty much grossed us out. The peanut butter was also too sweet and totally different from the conventional peanut butter spread.

So far, the desserts at EWF has been nothing but disappointing. Guess this will be the last straw for us and we would probably not ever try any desserts from EWF.
