SweetSpot

SweetSpot – The latest addition to the local dessert industry. Located at the hotel atrium of Marina Bay Sands, we went there with very high hopes, and ended up … … disappointed. The popular Chocolate Paradigm was not available, hence we settled for the Chocolate cake, and another Chestnut cake (we can’t recall the exact name of the cake, but it was a chestnut flavoured one).

The Chocolate wasn’t made of premium chocolate, or at least, it didn’t taste like it was made of premium chocolate. It was just a chocolate cake, there was absolutely nothing to rave about. The Chestnut flavoured cake did not fare any better. Initially, we had thought that the top beige layer was chestnut ganache, but sadly, there was only the slightest tinge of chestnut. The chestnut taste was barely detectable.

The only thing that impressed us that night was the packaging of the cakes. We had requested for take-away and we were quite impressed with the design of the take-away boxes. But other than that, the cakes were mediocre. Each slice was close to $9; it was definitely not worth the money.
